Data Security Vulnerabilities That May Affect You!
Scary things are happening in the world of information! Right now, there are some data security vulnerabilities that may affect you! OpenSSL is a free-to-use cryptographic software that is used by over 500,000 of the world’s websites. A vulnerability was found in the software, putting all of these websites user-names and passwords at risk. It was recommended that you change your passwords on sites such as Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr, Google, Yahoo, Gmail, Yahoo Mail, Amazon Web Services, Etsy, GoDaddy, Flickr, Minecraft, Netflix, SoundCloud, YouTube, USAA, Box, Dropbox, GitHub, IFTTT, OkCupid, Wikipedia, and Wunderlist. Attackers could eavesdrop on communications, steal data directly from the services and users, and to impersonate services and users. Be very careful whom you trust online with your sensitive information!
Tips to further protect your identity:
• Protect your personal computers. Use firewalls and anti-spam/virus software, update security patches, and change passwords for Internet accounts.
• Don’t give personal information over the phone, through the mail or online unless you initiated the contact or you are sure you know who you are dealing with.
